Irma Lee Harden, 89, died peacefully on August 25, 2015 at Carroll Lutheran Village, her home since 2003. Irma was born on April 11, 1926 in Snow Hill, Maryland, the daughter of the late Edward and Edith Adkins. Irma was the wife of Walter F. Harden who died in 1997.
Irma enjoyed gardening, socializing with family and friends, traveling and helping at church. She was proud of both her Eastern Shore and Scottish roots, and spoke often of her childhood memories.
Irma is survived by her son John Harden and wife Barbara of Westminster, MD, and daughter Barbara Silverman and husband Irv of Easton, MD; grandchildren Elizabeth Thompson and husband Jay, Eric Harden and wife Kelly, and Tyler Harden and wife Diana; great-grandchildren Conner, Scarlett and Harper; brother and sister-in-law Lee and Ann Carr Adkins, and sister Beatrice Willis; nieces, nephews, friends, and her very frequent visitor, her grand-dog Nugget. Irma was predeceased by siblings Elizabeth Messick and King Adkins.
The family thanks all those who cared for Irma during her years at Carroll Lutheran Village.
