Irma “Duffy” Corey, nee Duffield, 85, of O’Fallon, IL passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville, IL. Irma was born on February 4, 1930, in Philadelphia, PA. She was a caring and loving mother and wife. Her family and homemaking were everything to her. She was a member of the American Legion Post 859 and a former EMT for Newfoundland, PA. She loved traveling and was an avid crossword puzzler, doing a book a week.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Hart Benton & Irma Duffield, nee Allcutt, and son, David Corey. Irma is survived by her husband, Lyle S. Corey of O’Fallon, IL; her children, Thomas Corey of Glenolden, PA, Steven (Lenore) Corey of Huntsville, AL, and Kathleen (Benjamin) Nevin of Collinsville, IL; 12 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 859, Newfoundland, PA.
