Iris Jean Jones-Harris was born October 09, 1939 in Lisbon, LA. She was the eldest of ten children born to the union of Jackson and Beatrice Jones. Iris attended school in San Diego and graduated from SD High School.
Iris was married in 1958, and to this union three daughters were born; Nicole, Shelda and Andrea. Later Iris gave birth to a son Michael.
Iris was a loving mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed reading books, playing cards and board games. Her favorite TV shows were Bonanza and Judge Joe Brown. And according to her grandchildren, Iris made the best peanut butter and jelly sandwiches!
On July 28, 2022, Iris went home to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her father, Jackson Clay Jones, mother, Beatrice Jones, sisters, Marie Jones and Margie Louise Mack and brother, Andrew Jones.
Iris leaves to celebrate her life and her homegoing to three daughters; Nicole Harris of Easley, SC; Shelda Harris of Marion, LA; Andrea (Paul) Gibson of Sumter, SC; and son Michael Jones of San Diego, CA; three sisters, Marva Roberts of Marion, LA; Doris (Robert) Williams of St. Louis, MO; Brenda Jones of Las Vegas, NV; three brothers- Otis Jones of San Diego, CA; Alphonso (Margarette) Jones of Moreno Valley, CA; Kenneth (Sandra) Jones of San Diego, CA; eight Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends to mourn her home going.
