Irene was born on May 21, 1922 in Prairie Green Twp., Illinois, the daughter of Clifford Raymond Wilson and Bessie Lois (Buck) Wilson. She graduated from Ambia High School, Ambia, Indiana Class of 1941. Her first marriage was on January 29, 1944 to Carl Spencer Bressie who passed away May 7, 1964. Then, on January 4, 1969 in Wolcott, Indiana, she married Marvin Francis Ulm who passed away February 17, 2008.
