Irene Garland, 86,of Warm Mineral Springs, Florida and formerly of Ladd, IL, died October 10, 2014.
Mrs Garland was born in Ladd on September 21, 1928 to Gaetono and Mary(Castelli)Tonozzi. She was one of sixteen children. She graduated Valedictorian for Hall High School in 1945. Mrs Garland was a supervisor at Westclox for several years. She married Roger Garland and they moved to Florida 54 years ago. She was recognized as a very successful businesswoman and was the owner of Garland Magnavox Home Entertainment Center in Port Charlotte, Florida for 30 years. For several years she served on the board of directors of the Port Charlotte Bank.
Mrs Garland is survived by two sons, Christopher of North Port, FL and Roger of Tiskilwa, IL; two daughters, Janet Wright of Fort Myers, FL and Patricia Drennan of Prophetstown, IL; seven grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Roger, one son Richard and her fifteen siblings.
