Irene V. Dziuban, widow of Stanley Dziuban, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at the age of 101. She was born in Newark, N.J. to her parents Mary and Harry Szalkowski, on March 23, 1916. Irene went to St. Casmir’s grammar school and Eastside High School in Newark, N.J. Irene worked in RCA in Harrison, N.J., then was home to raise her family, daughters, Diane (Redfield), and Harriet (Werkman). She returned to work at Bamberger’s in Newark for 27 years as an administrative assistant to the Vice President, retiring in 1981. Her legacy will never be duplicated.

She cooked, baked, knitted and sewed for the “stars” her daughters and granddaughters. She and her beloved Stanley traveled the world and the USA. She loved her Polish heritage and kept up with the Polish customs and traditions every holiday with her family as well as over five visits to Poland. Irene is survived by her two daughters, Diane Redfield and Charles, Harriet Werkman and Nick, six grandchildren, Kristin and Brian Bewick, Daun and John Ward, Sharon Matyas and Lisa Sadowski, Nick and Janine Werkman, Elena and Doug Forbes, Tonja Werkman and Matt Pallone, niece Linda Peterson, and nephew Dr. Joseph Loboda and Terry.

Her proudest moments were spent with her nine great-grandchildren: Joseph Thomas and Wyatt Matyas, Safira Bewick, Zachary, Tyler, Ella, Connor, and Cole Werkman, John Patrick Ward and Roxie Forbes.
