Irene Sanchez Garcia was raised in the heart of Dallas, Texas, on  historical Harwood St., previously known as Little Mexico Village. She passed away peacefully Monday morning, March 14, 2022. She was a loving mother to two children daughter, Deborah Sanchez Paiz, and son, Willie Salazar Garcia.

Irene was headstrong, a force to be reckoned with, who always made the best out of every heart-wrenching moment to bring happy memories and smiles to her family. Irene enjoyed music, dancing, and fishing. But most importantly, she enjoyed her family. She expressed her love through her food. Big pots of menudo, arroz con leche, gorditas and other dishes made with love and from scratch…and everyone knew to wash their hand before entering the kitchen. When her kids or grandkids were ill, she provided the type of care that only a mother/grandmother could whip up without having to go to a doctor’s office and wait for a shot to make us better.

Irene is survived by her son, Willie Salazar Garcia; five grandchildren, Erica Ann Martinez, Jennifer Irene Torres, Tiffany Michelle Sanchez, John Jacob Navarro, and Willie Garcia, Jr: and nine great-grandchildren; Lauren, Matthew, Joshua, Taylor, Jayden, Zayla, Gibby, MaKayla, and Julian.

She is joined in heaven by her father, Joaquin Sanchez Sr., mother, Trinidad Rincon Sanchez, and daughter, Deborah Sanchez Paiz.

She will be deeply missed by family and numerous friends.
