Irene R. Mitchell, 92, of LaSalle, died July 25, 2008 at Illinois Valley Community Hospital.
She was born March 17, 1916 in LaSalle to Charles and Isabel (Bowie) Rounds. She married William Hynds Mitchell on January 5, 1946 in LaSalle. She worked at Westclox and C.A. Jensen Jewelers. She was a Deaconess in the Waltham Presbyterian Church. She was very involved in the Dimmick School District. She farmed in Dimmick Township. She co-established the Mitchell Grove Nature Preserve for Study and Research.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Bonnie R. (Joe) Davis of El Dorado Hills, CA; Kathryn Barnaby of Hoffman Estates, IL; and Deborah De Beauchamp of South Bend, WA; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and 1 sister, Florence Ruggerio of Torrance, CA.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband on August 27, 1999; 1 daughter, Carole Jean Morgan in February 2000; 3 sisters; and 2 brothers. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren,David Donaldson and Mike Donaldson; Paul Barnaby, Aaron Barnaby and Jess Barnaby;Frank Bruder and Lauren Bruder.
