Irene M. LaGambina, age 80, died Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Plymouth Crossings, following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Pasquale D. LaGambina, and the daughter of the late Charles and Elvira (Sinnabaldi) Napier. Born and raised in East Boston, Irene was a graduate of Boston Girl’s High School, class of 1955. She and her husband Pasquale have made there home in Plymouth since 1969. She was a communicant of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church where she was a greeter. Prior to her retirement, Irene worked for many years in the cafeterias of the Plymouth school system and finished her career from Federal Furnace Elementary School where she was the cafeteria manager for over 20 years. She enjoyed crafts, especially macramé and quilting, and was an avid Bingo player.Irene was the loving mother of Sarah Daley and her husband Stephen of Mashpee, Joseph LaGambina and his wife Elizabeth of Plymouth, Michael LaGambina and his wife Melinda of Hanson, Angela de Muinck and her husband Paul of Raleigh, NC. and Paula LaGambina of Plymouth. She was the grandmother of eight grandchildren, Michael, Richard, Caitlin, Michelle, Christopher, Tim, Andrew and Breanna, and five great grandchildren, Ryan, Owen, Aria, Sammy and Nathan, as well as the sister of Sr. Sandra Napier SND, of Worcester and Charles Napier of Natick. The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the staff of BSL at Plymouth Crossings for their unselfish commitment to the care and comfort of our mother, showing her the highest level of love and compassion over the past few years. We also thank Old Colony Hospice for their guidance, support and care of the last few months.
