Irene (Bozyk) Kaminski, 90, of New Britain and Port St. Lucie, FL entered into eternal rest on June 22, 2016. Born in Smarklice Poland, the daughter of the late Stanislaw and Zofia Bozyk, she and her family came to the United States in June 1966 for a better life. As a young girl, she loved to sing in the choir, knitting, quilting, crocheting and spending time with her friends Irene resided in New Britain, Kensington and Port St. Lucie, FL. Before moving to Florida, Irene was a longtime parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, and attributed her life’s many blessings to her deep and abiding faith. She was the ‘go to person’ if you needed advice or recipes. She adored listening to Polka music ‘Oberek’ and was known to kick up her heels every now and then just for fun. Her favorite leisure pastime was telling her life stories to her family over big dinners. Prior to her retirement, Irene was employed by Atlantic Machine, New Britain General Hospital and the New Britain School system. Left with sadness in their hearts are her three sons: John Kaminski and his wife, Christine, Roman Kaminski and his wife, Marianna all of Florida, Joseph Kaminski and his wife, Danuta of Newington; her six grandchildren: Beata and her fiancé, Joseph, Jessica and her husband, David, Christine and her husband, Kirill, Christopher Kaminski, Basia and her husband, Jesse and Mark Kaminski; her two beloved great grandchildren: Alexandra Kaminski and Preston Blonshteyn as well as many nieces and nephews and cousins in the U.S. and Poland. She was predeceased by two infant children: Zosia and Tadeusz, her husband, Stanislaw and her sister, Zofia Jaroc. The family would like to acknowledge the compassionate care given to Irene by the wonderful staff at Andrew House/Cassena Care of New Britain. Also, the kind care provided by Masonicare Partners of East Hartford: Jan McIsaac, Jim Chmura, Johnnie Burke and Reverend Ray. A special thank you also to Dr. Ania Radwan for her kindness and generous support.
