Johney “Irene” Matlock Harvey, 83, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, went to be with her Lord on November 24, 2010 after a brief illness.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Lundy Harvey. Also surviving are her children, Vivian Atkins, Glen Jan Howard, Regina Dwaine Jackson; stepson, Ronnie Luisa Harvey; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and their children. Irene retired from American Federal Savings and Loan in 1987. She dedicated her life to her family, always providing them with her wisdom and guidance. Her friends and family remember her for her strong faith, unconditional love, and a servant heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clint and Lillie Matlack; her brother, Gay Matlock; sister-in-law, Doris Matlock; son-in-law Dale Atkins; and step-daughter, Judy McCardle.
