Irene Ward Hall Nielson, 90, of Nampa, died on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at a Nampa retirement center. She was born on October 2, 1927 in Nampa, Idaho to James I. and Sylvia M. Ward. Irene was raised and educated in Nampa graduating from Nampa High School in 1945. She immediately went to work for Mountain Bell as a switch board operator which was across the street from the Dewey Palace in Nampa.

She met Don W. Hall from Kuna at a Dance and they were married in 1947. Don was a farmer south of Nampa and they raise two boys, Terry and Kevin. Irene was a very social person. She loved working at J.C. Penneys and other places in downtown Nampa. Don passed away in 1973

She is survived by sons, Terry L. (Debby) Hall of Melba and Keven E. Hall of Nampa; Sons, James J. Nielson of Washington, Keith Nielson of Oregon, Rick Nielson of Washington and Daughter Kathleen Nielson of Washington; A sister, Jane (Richard) Howell of Meridian. Irene has many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mom was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She was loved dearly and will be missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, one brother, a son Ronnie Hall and both husbands.

A special thanks to her sister June Howell who was mom’s lifetime best friend; her good friends, Larry and Linda Smith, and the great staff at Park Place Assisted Living who helped guide her on her journey for the last 2 years. Jessica Velasquez and her staff from Journey’s hospice care were very helpful for her and we appreciate them.
