Irene Evelyn McDonald was the only child born to the late Jim McDonald and Juanita Stover McDonald in Decatur, Alabama on September 24, 1945. Ms. McDonald departed this life on April 9, 2012 at the Decatur General Hospital.

She confessed hope in Christ on March 26, 1967 in Cleveland, Ohio.  She later relocated to Los Angeles, California, where she joined Greater Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church.  She served on the Usher Board and the Nurse’s Guild.  In 1989 she moved back to Decatur, Alabama where she joined Moulton Heights Missionary Baptist Church and remained a member until her death.

Irene’s life was an affirmation of self-confidence and strong religious convictions.

Irene is survived by her goddaughter, Pamela Reynolds of Decatur; two god-grandchildren, Mack and Carrie Reynolds, of Decatur; three aunts, Ruth Stover and Annie M Barbson of Cleveland, Ohio and Willie M. Stover of Decatur; siblings, Willie G. Reynolds, Grady Gill Sr., and Cora Bynum (Ben) all of Decatur and Eddie M. Kyle of Cleveland, Ohio; a very special and loving friend, Andrew Wiggins Sr. and a host of relatives and friends.
