SALEM – Irene Elizabeth Gbur, age 94, died at 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at the Salem East Health Care Center. She was born December 5, 1923 in Monaca, PA, the daughter of the late Nickolas and Helen (Mihalko) Matsuk.
Irene was a library assistant at the Salem High School for 13 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church. Other memberships include the VFW Auxiliary, Salem Hospital Auxiliary and life member of Salem Elks Auxiliary.
Her husband, Thomas J. Gbur, preceded her in death March 17, 1993.
Survivors include a daughter, Deborah (William) Winter of Salem, a son David Gbur of Salem; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Her son, Thomas J. Gbur, preceded her in death in 1997.
