Obituary of Irene E. Andert
Irene E. (Olson) Andert, age 93, of Eagan, was taken into the hands of the Lord surrounded by family on July 13, 2017. Irene was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Norman J. Andert. She is survived by sons and cherished daughters-in-law, Jeffrey and Diane Andert and James and Mary Andert; Grandsons Jason (Andrea) Andert, Jonathan (Katie) Andert, Justin Andert, Ryan Andert and Blake Andert; and Great Grandchildren Finna Andert and Austin and Atley Andert-Kerrins. Also surviving are her dear sister Marian Millerhagen and Nieces and Nephews Jennie Millerhagen, Mary (Alan) Kalthoff (Olivia, Grace and Erik), Jay (Katie) Millerhagen (Peter) and Jon (Kara) Millerhagen (John and Anna).
Irene was born and raised in Milnor, ND by parents John Oliver and Jennie Olson with cousin Oliver Halverson. She graduated from the St. Lukes Hospital, Fargo, Nursing program in 1945 and relationships with classmates endured through her life. Her career as a Registered Nurse was served in numerous settings and she retired as a Psychiatric Nurse from the Minneapolis Veterans Administration Medical Center in 1979. Faith was a cornerstone of her life and she was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.
