Irene Charlotte (Conrad) Hite, 87, of Middletown, wife of the late Henry Clifford Hite, passed away on Thursday, September 25th at Middlesex Hospital. Born in Manhattan, NY, she was the daughter of the late William and Charlotte (Foell) Conrad. Irene lived in New York for sixty-five years and in Connecticut for twenty-two years. She worked in the nursery at United Hospital in Port Chester, NY and was a foster parent, fostering over sixty-five infants always selflessly sharing her heart with children that needed love. She was also a housewife, loving mother, fun grandmother, loving to play nerf guns and do word searches and a good friend to all. Irene or “Green Grandma” as she was called will be missed greatly. Irene is survived by her son, James C. Hite and his wife, Jennifer of Cromwell; three daughters, Denise Weldon of Bedford, NY, Cindy Hite of Hawthorne, NY and Bonny Carella of Tamarac, FL; her brother, Donald Conrad; four grandchildren, Clifford Weldon, Joseph Carella, Deborah Carella and Evan Hite; four great grandchildren, Kevin Weldon, Megan Weldon, Thomas Weldon, III and Thaddeus Weldon and Hernie the cat. In addition to her parents and husband, Irene was predeceased by a brother, William Conrad; a son-in-law, Thomas Weldon, Sr. and grandson, Thomas Weldon, Jr.
