Irene C. Alvarez, 83, went home to be with Our Lord peacefully at her residence embraced with love of family. Native and lifetime resident of Harlingen born May 5, 1934 to her parents Emilio Cordero and Angelita Garza.
Left behind to cherish her beautiful memory are her devoted husband of 63 years, Raul S. Alvarez Sr., children, Elizabeth Ramirez (Bernie), Raul Alvarez Jr. and Roberto Alvarez, grandchildren, Alyssa Ramirez, Jennifer Alvarez, Jessica Alvarez, Nicole Flores, Christina Alvarez, Anthony Alvarez and four great grandchildren. Siblings, Jesus Cordero, Rebecca Cliffton, Luisa Martinez, Emilia Resendez, Benita Perez and Jose Martinez. She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Emilio Cordero, step-father, Valentin Martinez, mother, Angelita G. Martinez, brothers, Lorenzo Cordero and Valentin Martinez Jr.
