Irene Faustine Benigno, age 80, longtime resident of Milford and beloved wife to the late Leonard J. Benigno, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2011. Daughter of the late Joseph and Clara Sylvestri Faustine, she was born on February 20, 1931 in Bridgeport, CT. Prior to her retirement, Irene was proudly employed at Bic Corporation as a machine operator.
She leaves six devoted children, John Benigno and his wife Patricia of Milford, Patricia Botsford and her husband, Richard of Eighty-Four, PA., Catherine Wilkinson and her husband, James of Milford, Leonard Benigno and his wife, Jennifer of Trumbull, Edward Benigno and his wife, Joann of Tampa, FL and Teresa Longley and her husband Alan of Milford; and fourteen cherished grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Dorothy Hardy of Stratford, Clara Fabrizi of Shelton and Linda McKeon of Stratford and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a grandson, Loren Benigno, two brothers, Francis Faustine and Joseph Faustine, Jr and her sister Patricia Mata.
