Irene B. Hanzlik, a lifelong resident of Norwalk, died peacefully at her home on Thursday, July 7, 2011. She was the loving wife of the late Harry Hanzlik. Born in Norwalk on June 14, 1923, Irene was the daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth Perkins Brown. A woman of substance with much determination and pride who strived to reach perfection in every facet of life, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt and wife.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathleen Caruso and her husband Nick of Fairfield, her son James Harry Hanzlik of Stratton, VT, her brother William Brown and his wife Vivian of Dunedin, FL, 3 grandchildren, Nicholas, Harry and Casey Caruso, and 3 nieces, Karyn, Amy and Holly Boczer. Irene was sadly predeceased by her sister Patricia Boczer and her brother Robert Brown.
