Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Louise Ferrel Barthol; two daughters, Carolyn Bunch & husband Perry of Bastrop and Peggy Price & husband Tommy of Rayville; son, Ricky Barthol & wife Kay of Jones; two sisters, Lillian Crenshaw of Jones and Nell Harris & husband Donald of Wilmot, AR; four brothers, I.V. Barthol & wife Marion of Jones, Laurie Barthol & wife Clara of Jones, Robert Barthol & wife Francis of Bonita and Billy Barthol & wife Theresa of Jones; nine grandchildren, Janene West, Lee West & wife Dana, Kim Lord & husband James, Jacci Mooney & husband Mark, Andy Long & wife Julie, Rick Barthol, Heath Barthol, Jenny Morgan & husband Tim and Brandon Bunch; five great grandchildren, Hayley & Cayden Mooney, Taylor Long, Mallory West and Mason Lord.
Mr. Barthol was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan & Alder Barthol; sister, Annie Mae Pack; brother, Billy Lee Barthol and granddaughter, Yvette Louise West.
Mr. Barthol was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved life to the fullest and was an inspiration to his entire family. He was an United States Army veteran of World War II, an area businessman and farmer, was retired from the Morehouse Parish School system and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
