Ira F. “Ike” Cozad, 76, of Monmouth, died at 5:45 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. Ike was born May 30, 1936, in Galesburg, the son of Ira T. and Madeline (Zefo) Cozad.

He married Linda Miller on March 6, 1970, in El Paso, TX.

Ike is survived by his wife Linda of Monmouth; one son, James Cozad of Monouth; two daughters, Penny Cozad and Tamara Shaw both of Phoenix, AZ; nine grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, Francis “Dale” (Betty) Cozad of Oklahoma City, OK, Jame (Nancy) Cozad of Azle, TX, and Charles (Ann) Cozad of Oneida; and seven sisters, Rochelle German, Agnes (Tom) Smith, Eleanor Nelson, Stella Smith, and Barbar Turbitt all of Galesburg, Paula (Donald) Mudd of Norwood, MO, and Madeline (James) Lipsky of Leesburg, FL.

Along with his parents, Ike was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Lucinda (Donny) Byerly. Ike served in the US Air Force and was an over-the-road truck driver for many years. In his free time, Ike enjoyed working on cars.
