Ira J. “Bud” Vruwink, age 85, of Vesper, WI passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021 in Wisconsin Rapids.
Bud was born on February 26, 1936 in the Town of Sherry, Wood County, WI to Ira and Florence (Ver Cruse) Vruwink. He served his country in the Army National Guard. He married Inge Modersitzki in 1981. She preceded him in death on June 9, 2003.
Bud dairy farmed in Arpin (Town of Sherry) until 1999. He also worked at the Nekoosa Paper Mill for many years.
Bud was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and loved to deer hunt. He had a great sense of humor and liked to joke around with his family. He loved attending tractor shows and just being on the farm.
Bud is survived by his stepchildren: Diana (Roger) Kelnhofer, Harry (Nadine) Dolens and Roy (Linda) Dolens; step-grandchildren: Jennifer, Phillip, Pam, Stacy, Sarah, Jessica, Matt, Shawn, and Jason; brother, James Vruwink; sisters: Shirley Mertes, Carol (Tom) Hanneman, and Margie Schenk; sisters-in-law: Helen Vruwink, Joan Vruwink, and Kathleen Vruwink; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Inge; brothers: Don Vruwink, Bill Vruwink, Lewis (Karen) Vruwink, Edward (Shirley) Vruwink, and Howard (Betty) Vruwink; brothers-in-law, Jim Mertes and Jerry Schenk; and sister-in-law, Donna Vruwink.
The family thanks Kara and Patrick Delaney of Best Place to Be for the exceptional care they provided for Bud while he was a resident there. Special thanks also the girls at the wound clinic and Park Place.
Memorials may be designated to Fairview Cemetery in Sherry.
