Ione Catherine Raun Mans, 97, went into the care of our Lord Jesus Christ November 24, 2016 surrounded by family.

She loved God, studying the bible chapter and verse.  She shared her love for the Lord with anyone who would listen and some that wouldn’t.

Ione was born to Danish immigrants John and Marie Raun on January 15th 1919 in Great Falls, Montana.

She was the youngest of 3 sisters and grew up during the depression on the shores of Flathead Lake in Rollins, Missoula and Great Falls; graduating from Great Falls High in 1937. She raised 4 children through WWII and well beyond. Her hard working, self- sacrificing heritage punctuated all she did and believed. Her passions were caring for family, reading, dancing, making apple pies and Christmas cookies. She described discipline as doing what needs to be done, because it needs to be done.  Her loving demeanor was blended with a cunning sense of humor.  She was a great listener and was kind and loving to all. Ione loved to travel, especially with her husband Aaron, who lovingly called her ‘Sugar’.

After having a severe stroke in 1990, she researched and developed her own therapy program.  Her motto was “You’ve had a stroke, now get over it. You have to do what you can’t, not what you can.”

She is survived by sons Barry Dardis (Marcie), William Mans (Penny), Dr. Raymond Mans (Sarah); daughters Mary-Ann Nedescu (Mike) and Kathy Tigart (Matt).  She will be missed by 17 grandchildren, 24 great- grandchildren, and 7 great- great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Marie Raun, sister Evelyn Raun, husband Robert Dardis, sister Shirley Stafford, husband Aaron Mans, and daughter Barbara Rio.

She was loved dearly and will be missed by all.
