Ion “John” Lacatusu, 60
Beloved husband and friend, Ion “John” Lacatusu, 60 of Kellogg Idaho, passed away at his home in the company of loved ones on June 26, 2019. Ion was born on May 7, 1959; the son of Costica and Elena Lacatusu.
Ion was born and raised in Romania and shortly after completing school, enlisted and served in the Romanian Army for two years. After the military, Ion held various mining and pipeline jobs in his home country. Ion moved to the United States in 1989. He worked in Las Vegas at various casinos until moving to the Seattle area. It was there where he worked in the automotive industry as a lot attendant, mechanic and salesman until his retirement.
Ion married the great love of his life, Eva in 1996. They spent 29 wonderful years together.
Ion was a special man with a big heart. He spent his free time helping others in various ways. He believed in random acts of kindness and was often putting others needs in front of his own. He was known for giving rides to people when they had no mode of transportation, especially for appointments, never asking for anything in return. He was a generous and honest man who dearly loved his adoring wife, Eva. Ion was also a very talented writer; his stories will forever live on in those he shared his memories with.
Ion will be greatly missed by many close friends, relatives and all those whose lives he touched along his life journey.
Ion is survived by his beloved wife, Eva Lacatusu of Kellogg, Idaho; his sister-in-law and dear friend, Florence Johnson of Kellogg, Idaho; two sisters-in-law, Kathleen Antuna of Seattle, Washington and Karen Johnson of Renton, Washington; as well as three brothers-in-law, Billy Johnson of Chehalis, Washington, Richard Johnson of Wrangell, Alaska and Tommy Bennet of Bellevue, Washington. Ion was preceded in death by his parents, Costica and Elena Lacatusu.
