Ioannis ‘John’ A. Raftopoulos of Plymouth, formerly of the North Shore, passed away peacefully on February 2. He is the beloved husband of 49 years to Angela (Dimos) Raftopoulos. Born in Athens, Greece on March 31, 1945, son of the late Alexandros and Aphrodite (Ntaigeorgi) Raftopoulos. He was educated in Greece and came to the US in 1968 where he married the love of his life and went on to raise his family on the North Shore where he lived until moving to Plymouth 17 years ago. He worked for almost 40 years as a Machinist – Supervisor for the Lynn Screw Corporation. John was a family man and time spent with them was his greatest joy. In his younger years, he played guitar and bouzouki in a Greek band performing at various special occasions. He was also a great handyman and loved to work on home projects. Besides his loving wife, Angela, he leaves behind his children, Alexander, Afroditi and James all of Plymouth; his grandchildren Evangelos and Ioannis of Plymouth; and his sister Popi Ninos and husband Emmanuel Ninos of Florida.
