Inez Taylor Glover, 96, died peacefully in her home in Newnan, Georgia on Monday, January 2, 2017. Mrs. Glover was born in Greensboro, Georgia on November 24, 1920 and was the daughter of Landrum Sanford Taylor and Ethel May McMichael. She was one of five children. Her bothers Lamar “Acie” Taylor and Jack Taylor preceded her in death, and she is survived by her sisters Ginny Taylor Clevenger of Calabash, NC and Betty Taylor Stovall of Atlanta. Inez married Clifford Banks Glover, Jr. from Newnan, Georgia on April 28, 1945, and together they had three sons. Gandy Glover lived in Newnan and died on April 24, 2011, and Taylor Glover and Peter Glover both live in Atlanta. Mrs. Glover’s husband Clifford Glover died on June 18, 2007. Mrs. Glover graduated from Valdosta State University and earned a 6-year teaching degree from West Georgia College. After their wedding, Inez and Cliff Glover’s first home was in Deland Florida, where Cliff was a Lieutenant in the Navy. After World War II ended, the Glovers returned to Newnan, and Inez continued her career as a schoolteacher at Elm Street Elementary School, where she taught for 22 years. She was a champion of education and was honored with a membership in Delta Kappa Gamma, an international professional honor society of key women educators. “Miss Inez” was beloved by her former students, many of whom she kept contact with in Newnan. Inez was an honorary member of Newnan Reading Circle, which was founded in 1909. She was also a long-time supporter of “Feeding our Friends” ministry at Central Baptist Church, where she enjoyed delivering meals to and visiting with those in need. She was also a member of the Bridge Club, Lunch Bunch and Missionary Circle. Throughout her life, Miss Inez was blessed to have a large circle of wonderful friends. Survivors include her sons S. Taylor Glover (Shearon) and Peter L. Glover (Helen), four grandchildren Frank Glover (Nancy), Chris Glover (Melissa), Becky Glover and Preston Glover, and three great-grandchildren Meredith, Ryan, and Greer.
