Inez McKoon Miller, 93 of Newnan, Georgia, formerly of East Point, Georgia, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015. Inez was the youngest of nine children of Henry Lewis McKoon and Helena Wyche McKoon. At the time of her death, she was the last surviving of their children. Inez was born on November 24, 1921 in Luthersville, Georgia. Her father was a farmer and her mother a homemaker.
Inez retired from the Sears Roebuck Company Auditing and Accounting Department in Atlanta in 1982. Inez was a member of the Methodist church all her life. She was an active member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church in East Point for 42 years until moving to Newnan in 1999. There she became a member of Freeman Memorial United Methodist Church.
Inez and Harold were married in 1942. They were married 64 years prior to his death in 2006. She is survived by her loving and devoted children – daughter, Lynne and her husband Andy Colquitt of Rome, son, William Harold Miller, Jr. (Bill) and his wife Reta of Lake Spivey, daughter Gayle and her husband Steve Barker of Newnan. Also surviving are three grandsons; Trey Miller, Michael and his wife Michelle Miller and Jason Miller, granddaughter; Katie Lynne Barker and one great-grandson; Matthew Miller. She is also survived by sisters-in-law and their husbands: Jean McCoy of Lilburn, Helen and Wilburn (Bill) Baxter of Hiram, and brother-in-law, Ray Street of Snellville. Inez is survived by several beloved nieces and nephews.
Inez was a dedicated Christian, a loving wife and mother, a charming and loving mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother, dearly loved, respected and admired by all who knew her. Her gentle spirit and pretty smile were a delight.
