SCHONVELD, Mrs. Inez M. Oorbeck, Kalamazoo, MI. Died Friday morning April 15, 2011. Inez was born August 12, 1921 in Cooper Township, Michigan a daughter of John C. and Elizabeth Germain Metzger. She was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School and attended Parson’s Business School and Western Michigan University. Inez had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with Early Realty for 20 years before retiring.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Abraham J. Oorbeck on January 1, 1968; her second husband, Peter Schonveld on November 14, 1997; her son, James Oorbeck on January 7, 1989; 3 brothers, Erwin, Earl, and Paul Metzger; 2 sisters, Evelyn Doster and Esther DeLeeuw; 2 nephews, Harold Doster and Rex Metzger; and a niece, Marjorie Pinkster. Inez is survived by 2 step children, Paul Donna Schonveld of Schoolcraft and Helen Lemmer of Kalamazoo; 5 grandchildren, Carrie Roberto Rodas, Lindsay Jon Brink, Steven Schonveld, Chad Megan Lemmer, and Kristina Lemmer; 3 great-grandchildren, Brady and Connor Brink, and Sebastian Rodas; nephews, Max Linda Metzger, Donald Sue DeLeeuw, and Ted Metzger; and several other nieces and nephews.
