Inez Levern Dean King, a long-time resident of  Jackson, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 26, 2022, surrounded by her family at her home. She was born on April 27, 1929 to Ethel Glivins Dinkins Dean and Vernon Robert Dean in the Vernal Chapel community of Jackson. Early in life, she was a member of the Vernal Chapel Baptist Church, later she united with St. Union Baptist Church, and then uniting with her family at Jackson Street Baptist Church in Jackson. Ms. Inez was a graduate of the Old Harper High School in the Depot community.

She was a very loving and kind quiet person, and was known for being a great beautician. She was especially known for pressing and curls. Before her health failed, she was also known for cooking delicious meals for her family. Ms. Inez loved to listen to music and especially spending time with her beloved family.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her beloved husband, George King Jr.; children, Deloris Ann King and Earvin King; grandson, Gregory King; siblings, Warren Dean, Doris Dean Foxx, Retha Mae Dean, Mary Lee Dean Williams and Edmond Dean.  

Left to cherish her memories are her nine children, Emogene (Randy) Brown, Claresa  Hamilton, Bettye (Chester) Tiggs, Nettie King, Cecil (Ruthie Mae) King, Conrad (Doris) King, Yvonne King, Carrie King and Sharon (Antino) Crayton; 28 grandchildren, Kimberly Mitchell raised as one of her own, 64 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; three siblings, Robert (Carolyn) Dean, Helen (Donald) Pettway and Ethel Dean Poellnitz; one sister-in-law, Mevadean Dean; with a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives..
