Ines Toriano of New Milford was 74 years old when she passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022. Born in Daraga, Albay, Philippines, Ines graduated from Saint Theresa’s College, Quezon City in 1969, where she pursued an accounting degree. She then started her career at the SGV accounting firm, where she met her husband Felipe. They immigrated to the United States in 1984, living first in Queens NY before settling in New Milford NJ in 1990. Before retiring, she worked at the American Red Cross and GHI Insurance. Ines loved to travel, especially with her Debonair college group, and to spend time with family, often in marathon mah jong sessions. She was an active member of the Church of the Ascension Roman Catholic parish in New Milford, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteering with the church event planning committee and the Parish Outreach program.
Ines was the beloved wife of Felipe Toriano, with whom she had recently celebrated 50 years of marriage together. She was the loving mother of Jose and his wife Carmen, Tricia and her husband Vijay, Juan and his wife Abby, Maria and her husband Brian, and honorary family member Susan. Ines was the cherished grandmother of Camille, Jose Jr, Caitlyn, Maddan, Kiran, Aidan, Lowan, and Janelle. She is also survived by her dear brother Orlando and step-sister Norma, and is reunited with her late parents, Jose and Pilar, brother Cesar, sister Marilou, and step-sister Carmencita.
