Indiraben Chokshi was born on November 29, 1933 in the small town of Jambusar, India. She grew up alongside her twin brother and four other siblings. She was married at 16 years old to Mahendrabhai Chokshi (affectionately known as Pappa).
Even at that young age, she took on the responsibility of caring for her brother-in-law and sisters-in-law. She spent much of her life lovingly helping others and strengthening her relationship to God. Each day, she would walk over two miles to the Haveli Mandir to pray for the health and happiness of her family and those less fortunate. Although Pappa was the head of the family, she was a source of strength and guidance for her children, grandchildren, and family.
She is survived by her 4 children, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
