Died August 15, 2017 at Medilodge of Kalamazoo, at the age of 86. Imogene was born July 30, 1931 in Homer, MI, a daughter of Lewis and Florence (Crandall) Truax. Imogene loved the sight and smell of beautiful flowers. She loved watching Law & Order and Matlock on TV daily. She always wanted everyone to smile and enjoy their day. She loved being around family and never wanted them to leave when over for a visit. She really loved to cook and bake and could always put together a great meal.
She went by many names; mom, grandma, grannie, Aunt Jean, Aunt Imy, Aunt Imogene, and don’t pronounce Imogene wrong unless you wanted a dirty look!!! Imogene was preceded in death by her husband, William De Vries; son, William A. De Vries, Jr. (2009); a grandson Fred Anson Lewis; one brother and two sisters; and five half brothers and sisters.
Surviving are her children, Freida (Tom) Wiessew and Fred S. De Vries; six grandchildren, Scott, Necole, Bobbie, Skyler, Strauss and Derrian; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Daryl (Inga) Burrows; and several nieces and nephews.
