Imogene Burks Rooks, 87, passed away Monday, July 13, 2020 at her home in Newnan. She was born June 19, 1933 in the Arnco Community to the late Graydon C. Burks & Agnes Borders Burks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Christine Banks, Clinton Burks, Harold Burks, and Elizabeth Gordon. Imogene graduated from Western High School in 1952 and the next year she married the love of her life, Bobby B. Rooks. She worked as the office manager of Rooks State Farm Agency until her retirement in 1998. Imogene was a charter member of the Coweta Kiwanis Club where she received the Legion of Honor in 2020. She was an active member of the Love Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church of Newnan. The family gives special thanks to Katherine Kimbrough and Sonya Hall for the love, support and care provided to Imogene throughout her sickness. Survivors include husband, Bobby Rooks; son, William “Bill” Rooks & wife Susan; grandsons, Brandon Rooks & wife Anna, Jason Rooks & wife Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Eli, Madeline, Ward, Leland, Laken, and Landry Rooks; sisters-in-law, Nancy Burks, Betty Burks; brother-in-law, Charles Gordon; numerous nieces and nephews.
