Mrs. Brockett died Sunday, December 18, 2016 in a Temple hospital.

Mrs. Brockett was born November 16, 1937 in Goree, the daughter of James Christler Decker and Florence (Childress) Decker. She married Kenneth W. “Pete” Brockett, May 19, 1956 in Goree. She was a homemaker and a model. She was a model for the Ruth Ann Malm Agency and modeled for Lears Magazine and made the cover shot before retiring. Her and her husband made their home at Morgan’s Point Resort in 1999, moving here from Munday. She was a member of the Anchor of Hope Church in Belton.

Ima Jean Brockett, known to many as Imo, Mammy or Mimi, was a beautiful soul that expressed her love through creation. From bird houses to quilts, paintings to stitching, and pies to breakfast her love was seen and felt in everything she made. She had a passion for the world, for nature, for life and for love. Most knew her as a housewife, but she was more than that, a farmer, a model, a seamstress, an artist, a baker, a chef, a mother, a grandmother, loved by all who knew her. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family playing games, telling stories and eating watermelon!

Survived by her loving husband, Kenneth (Pete) Brockett of 60 years, two daughters Kim Marmon and husband William and Monica Brockett and partner Leslie Russell; one sister Gypsy McMullen of Pueblo, Colorado and one brother James Christler Decker, Jr. of Big Spring; three grandchildren Ranee Gray, Justin Gray and James Taylor, Jr and nine great grandchildren and her beloved pup “Tilly”.
