Prospect – Mrs. Ilona (Loosze) Lazar, age 79, of Prospect, died Friday January 16, 2015 at Waterbury Hospital. She was the widow of Bela Lazar. Mrs. Lazar was born in Baja, Hungary on March 8, 1935 a daughter of the late Mihaly and Julia (Kazinci) Loosze. Mrs. Lazar is survived by five daughters: Helen Free and her husband Bill of Yorktown Heights, New York, Elizabeth Oliveira of Andover, New Jersey, Julie Smolskis and her husband Vitas of Prospect, Kathy Vasquez of Yonkers, New York, and Jessie Lazar and her husband Adam of Bloomingburg, New York, three sons: Laszlo Lazar and his wife Diane of Woodbury, Billy Lazar and his wife Shelly of Mechanicville, New York and Johnny Lazar of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, a sister: Elizabeth Jankovics of Washingtonville, New York, 28 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
