Ilene E. Lowell, 91, of Shrewsbury, formerly of Westborough, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at the Notre Dame Health Care in Worcester. She was the wife of the late Arthur S. Lowell and the late Lt. Walter Hayward Rogers.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Dora (Morin) Shawl.
Ilene was a dedicated homemaker and raised her children in Millbury, later moving the family to Westborough. She was an avid reader who had a love of True Crime not only in books, but also movies and TV. She cherished her trips to the Ogunquit Playhouse each summer. Her favorite entertainer by far was Englebert Humperdinck and she so enjoyed his music. She always looked forward to dinner out with family and loved ones.
She is survived by her children Suzanne Jacobson of Franklin, NJ, Hayward Rogers and his wife Christine of Sutton, Pamela Lavoie of Millbury, Gayle Schaefer and her husband Oren of Westborough, Dawn Carlo and her husband Francis of Shrewsbury. She leaves her beloved grandchildren, Ashley Jacobson, Amanda Jacobson, Audrey Nguyen, Kurt Rogers, James Lavoie, Jessica Lavoie, Andrew Clemons, Vanessa Clemons, Heather Clemons, Allison Carlo, Lauren Carlo and great-grandchildren, Molly and Emily Finkenaur. She is predeceased by her son-in-law Michael Jacobson.
