     Mrs. Ila Faye Overton Bailey, 71, a resident of Huguley, Al passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017 at her home.

     Survivors include her husband, David S. Bailey; Sons: Rodney (Sherry) Bishop of Lanett, Al, Damon (April) Bailey of Huguley, Al, daughter: Casey (Jason) Coggins of Valley, Al and son-in-law Allan Duvall. Grandchildren: Jason (Tracy) Mathena, Joshua (Ashley) Sturges, Roxie (Nick) Corley, Savannah Bailey, A.J. Bailey, Kaley Jones, Baylee Jones and 1 great grandchild: Lyric Sturges. Siblings: Betty (Sam) Townsend, Brenda (Larry) Harris, Gayla Adams, Beverly (Rusty) Letson. She also had a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by parents: Anna and Ethridge Overton, daughter: Malinda Duvall and brother: Doyce Overton.

     Faye was born in Double Springs, Al on April 15, 1945. In her 53 years in Chambers County she was well known in the community for her service as a poll worker for 20 years, substitute teacher for the schools, and avid home maker. She was a member of Calvary Baptist in Huguley for 34 years where she was very active in singing in the choir and taught Sunday school in the children, youth and adult departments and served on various committees. Her life was well-lived as Christ first and family next. She cherished and delighted in her husband of 41 years, 4 children, 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Other enjoyments included their creek house in Double Springs, Sacred Harp singings, Alabama Football, family heritage research, gardening and cooking for family and friends.
