Idelle Lydia Jacobsen, age 93, of Hickman, Nebraska, formerly of Osceola, passed away April 6, 2023 at Haven Manor in Hickman.
Idelle was born August 7, 1929 to William and Ida (Eisenmann) Kummer in Monroe, Nebraska.
On May 29, 1949 she was united in marriage to Glen Harold Jacobsen in Monroe. To this union one son and four daughters were born.
They farmed in Platte County near Monroe and then near Leigh before moving to Nance County west of Belgrade where they continued farming until they moved to Merrick County and farmed west of Silver Creek. They then moved to Polk County. Idelle was a farmers wife and homemaker before going to work at the Stromsburg Locker for 10 years and then at Annie Jeffrey Memorial County Hospital in medical records.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening, fishing, bird watching and digging up thistles.
Survivors include five children: Charmayne (David) Bates of Sheldon, IA, Russell (Janice) Jacobsen of Lincoln, Cynthia Medeiros-Potter, Joyce (Daniel) Grauer all of Council Bluffs, IA and Holly Davenport of Fairmont; 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Glen who passed away December 20, 2003; her parents; grandchildren: Nicklaus and Megan Doudney; great grandchild Marley Neumann; son-in-law Ivan Davenport; and three siblings, Elmer, Lois and Jeanette.
