Ida Jean Jones, 88, a resident of Tallahassee, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2015, while surrounded by her family.

Born March 8, 1932, in Mill Creek, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of the late Silas and Bessie Hobson Maytubby. She settled in Tallahassee Florida with her husband Jimmy Jones where she raised her family. She retired from the State of Florida, Bureau of Financial Responsibility in 1989 after 33 years of service. She enjoyed working in the yard, cooking dinner for the family gatherings, and traveling to the North Carolina cabin she and Jimmy loved so much.

For the past four years, she resided at Allegro where she cultivated new friendships. She is survived by a son, Randy (Susan) Jones; daughter, Kelli Jones; five grandchildren; Joseph Brandon (Dana) Jones, Emily Rachel Jones, Dylan Michael(Megan) Jones, Jonathan Tyler Jones, and Avery Lee Lansberry; three great-grandchildren, Taylor Randall Jones, Tanner Stephen Jones and Katherine Ava Jones; brother, Benny (Norma) Maytubby; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her family was the center of her life. She answered to many names including Jean, Mom, Ma Jean, Grandma, Mee Mee, and Gigi. She was loved by all and will be sorely missed.
