Ida A. Sollie

At her home, with her daughter at her bedside, Ida slipped peacefully away to be with the Lord on Monday, March 5th. She would have been 105 on May 2nd. Ida and her family came to Miami from Connecticut in 1924. During the Second World War she was a Civilian employee at the Opa Locka Naval Station serving as a timekeeper and plane spotter. Ida later worked for the City of Miami Police Department for 25 years.
Ida is predeceased by her husband, Berhard and son, Dr. Robert E. Delgado (Carolyn). She is survived by her daughter, Joan Hegner, son, Ronald E. Delgado (Bobbie), 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and her nieces and their families. Our gratitude to Maria who lovingly cared for her for five years.
