Icia G. Gilbert Murray, 91, Markleville, went to be with her Lord March 8, 2012 at Community Northview. She was born July 26, 1920 in Union County, Tennessee, and resided in Madison County most of her life. Icia retired after more than 40 years of service from Guide Division of General Motors.
She was a member of the Fifth Street United Methodist Church. She had been on the Board of Directors for Lampco Federal Credit Union and past President of United Methodist Women’s Organization.
She is survived by her children, Phillip Murray Sandra of Alexandria and Evelyn Bertram of Middletown; sister, Lucinda White of Knoxville, Tennessee; brother-in-law, Ray Murray Carol of Hayesville, North Carolina; grandchildren, Carla Klipsch Marty of Pendleton, Brian McKay of Markleville, Scott Bertram of Anderson, Jessica Bressner of Mahomet, Illinois, and Molly Judd of Markleville; three step-grandchildren, Robert Bennett of Waller, Texas, Teresa Collins of Alexandria, and Michele Whiteman Terry of Alexandria; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas & Rhoda Wilson Gilbert; husband, Carl Murray on March 26, 1989; and sisters, Tricia Parsons, Clacie Boatman, and Joyce Neeley.
