Ian Walter Burns of Chevy Chase, Maryland on Sunday September 21, 2014. Beloved husband of Maya Larson; father of Juliet and Christopher Blake Burns; son of Sybil Burns and the late Robert Burns; brother of Ysabel, Edward, Alexandra, Owen, Ann and Liam.
Ian will be remembered as the best dad ever, a devoted husband, and a great friend to many. He left us far too soon. On Sunday afternoon he was playing soccer. He loves soccer and had looked forward to this game all weekend. The weather was beautiful, he was with nice friends and enjoying one of his passions. Five minutes into the game his heart stopped beating. His death was so fast and unexpected that it is still difficult for all the people who love him to accept that he is gone.
Ian’s family is devastated. We would find comfort in hearing from people who knew Ian and could share memories of his many outstanding qualities.
