RICHARDS, Ian W. “Whitey” passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015, at the age of 88. He was born May 27, 1926, in Kalamazoo to the late Terry and Ilda Cunningham Richards.
He was united in marriage to Jeannette Lewis on December 24, 1945. Ian served in the U.S. Army from March of 1946 until honorably discharged in April of 1947. Among his awards were the American Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal. Ian was a proud member of the American Legion. Ian is survived by his wife, Jeannette Richards; his children, Karen Clark, Terry Romig, Larry Richards, Alice Thomas Washburn, Iannette Lopez, and Ian Richards II; several grand and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Naomi Richards, Gloria Richards, and Linda Richards; and daughter-in-law, Mary Richards.
