Born October 20, 1944, at Poplar Plains, in Fleming County, he was a son of the late Bert and Dora Cooper Johnson.
Hurl is survived by his wife of 53 years, Wynonia Emmons Johnson; one daughter, Hurline Jarvis and husband Kerry of Olive Hill; and one grandchild, Kerrington Jarvis.
