Mr. Hugh Kelly, 74, of Arbor Springs Health and Rehab. in Opelika, Al. passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Kelly is survived by his uncle, Frank Denson of Roanoke, Al.; six nieces and nephews, Steve (Janice) Kelly of Salem, Al., Wanda (Barry) Sanders of Valley, Al., Linda Butts of Valley, Al., Jennie McDonald of Jonesboro, Ga., Diane Henderson of Norcross, Ga., and Elizabeth Henderson of Atlanta, Ga. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Bruce Kelly; brothers, Thomas “Jr.” Kelly and Clifford Pete Kelly; sister, Mary Francis Kelly.
Mr. Kelly was born on May 5, 1939 in Wadley, Al. to the late Thomas Bruce Kelly and Minnie Denton Kelly. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and an outgoing gentleman who never met a stranger. He had retired from the Lee County Highway Dept. as a Heavy Equipment Operator after 28 years of service.
