Hubert Shoemaker, Jr., 86, of Vail, AZ and formerly of Virginia, IL, died Friday, March 5, 2021, in Vail, AZ.
He was born April 4, 1934, in Chandlerville, IL, the son of Hubert L. and Delta Theora Dickey Shoemaker. He married Alice M. Shirley on August 13, 1955, in Chandlerville, and she survives in Fiatt, IL.
He is also survived by two sons, Donald Euguene (Martha) Shoemaker of Vail, AZ and Lewis Richard (Diana) Shoemaker of Williams, AZ; seven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and one sister, Karen Shoemaker of Virginia.
Mr. Shoemaker was a 1954 graduate of Virginia High School. He was a mechanic and welder working on farm machinery for John Deere and International. He was a member of the Assembly of God churches in Virginia and Havana. Following retirement, Hubert and Alice enjoyed several years in Arizona.
