Hubert is a World War II Veteran. He served over seas in Germany and often talked of some of his harrowing experiences. After returning home, from the war, he served proudly in the National Guard.

He held various positions in the L.D.S.

He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Because of his love of the outdoors, he looked forward to the camping trips with the scouts and his own three sons. He said, “If he had his choice his favorite job would have been a forest ranger.”

He and his wife were members of a local square dance club and both enjoyed in and out of town dances. He was on a bowling team.

He went to work for O.P. Skaggs in 1938 and went to work for Railway Express in 1943. He was laid off from O.P. Skaggs and found work with Bennett’s Idaho Glass and Paint but continued to work double shifts to make sure bills were paid. He and his wife Leota was totally out of debt when he was inducted into the Army in 1944. He retired from Bennett’s Idaho Glass and Paint in 1980 after 44 years. He always worked very hard and passed that on to all 6 children. He always told them to be proud of what you do, do it right the first time so you don’t have to do it over and then “Own It”
