Hubert L. Raver, 96, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the Aspen Place Health Campus in Greensburg.
Born, August 26, 1923 in Decatur County, Indiana, he was the son of William F. and Rose A. (Ricke) Raver.
Hubert graduated from Clarksburg High School in 1941. He served in the Army from March of 1946 until April of 1947. When he returned from the military, he continued farming.
Hubert was active in the St. John’s Catholic Church in Enochsburg where he was a lifelong member. His faith was important to him.
He was a former member of the Decatur County Extension Board, a former board member of Premier Ag in Greensburg, and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Hubert received awards for timber management, and he also served as a 4-H leader with the Salt Creek Junior Farmers 4-H Club.
Hubert married Esther M. Volk on September 27, 1952, and she preceded him in death on October 27, 2010.
Hubert is survived by one son; Michael Raver, Enochsburg; four daughters, Sara (Dale) Hermesch, Millhousen, Kate (Norbert) Bedel, Millhousen, Monica (Joe) Neuman, Rush County, Mary (Tom) Bedel, Enochsburg; one sister, Dorothy Scheidler, Indianapolis; 18 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one grandson, David Bedel; two sisters, Esther Wallpe and Roselyn Hoeing.
