Hubert Rushton “HR/Hube” Rockwood, 97, of Iona, passed away September 19, 2018, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Hube was born December 20, 1920, in Iona, Idaho, to Amos Warren Rockwood and Melissa Genevieve Rushton Rockwood. He grew up and attended schools in Iona and graduated from Iona High School. He trained as an aviation mechanic in the Navy and served as an Aviation Machinist’s Mate First Class during World War II.
On November 1, 1946, he married Ethel Ann Oliverson in the Idaho Falls Temple. To this union were born five children, Ann, Yvonne, Craig, Cally, and Todd. Hube and Ethel made their home in Iona, Idaho, where Hube worked as a rancher and owner of the Rockwood Garage. Hube served as an Iona City Councilman for many years. He was a successful businessman, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
