Howard William Van Buren, 94, of Miletus, passed away at his residence on Sunday, February 16, 2014. He was born January 15, 1920 in Brooklyn, NY; son of the late Howard and Lillian Curtis Van Buren. Howard is survived by one daughter, Muriel and Walter J. Hnotkow; one granddaughter, Cynthia J. Hnotkow of Salem; one sister-in-law, Eileen Van Buren of Englishtown, NJ; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by this wife Muriel Eleanor Fischer Van Buren; his parents; two brothers, Robert and George Van Buren. Howard was a member of the Masonic AF&AM Normal Lodge No. 487 of New York City, NY. He loved collecting and setting up Lionel trains, loved feeding deer and birds. He also enjoyed cooking and has owned 13 new cars since 2002. He retired as an electrician and was a member of IBEW Local Union No. 1253 of Fairfield, ME. At Howard’s request, his body will be cremated.
